Joseph Sacher Presents Oral Argument to Florida Third District Court of Appeal at University of Miami School of Law
February 9, 2017 | Category: BLOG, News, Reported Decisions, Speaking EngagementsOn February 3, 2017, Joseph Sacher presented oral argument to Florida's Third District Court of Appeal. The case was one of four appeals hand-selected by the appellate court to be argued at the University of Miami School of Law as part of a special one-off educational program.
The first year law students were given the opportunity to read the parties' briefs during the week leading up to Oral Argument, and the entire first year (1L) class was invited to attend the appellate court hearing at the Storer Auditorium at the University of Miami Business School.
The Oral Argument arose from an interlocutory Petition for Certiorari seeking the reversal of the trial court's ruling denying Petitioner's Emergency Motion to Disqualify Respondent's Counsel, the Kluger Kaplan law firm.

UPDATE: On March 15, 2017, the Third District Court of Appeal issued an Opinion granting the Petition for Certiorari, reversing the trial court, and disqualifying the Kluger Kaplan law firm from representing the Respondent in any substantially related matter.
